[Women's Cross Country] Knights Women's Cross Country Team Travels to the Low CountryPublished by
PRESS RELEASE ST. ANDREWS UNIVERSITY By: C. F. McDowell, III, Sports Information Director October 6, 2018 KNIGHTS WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY TEAM TRAVELS TO THE LOW COUNTRY CHARLESTON, SC – The St. Andrews University women's cross country team was represented on Saturday in the individual competition at the Will Wilson Citadel Invitational/Charleston College Classic hosted by The Citadel at Johns Island County Park in Charleston, SC. Three individuals represented the Knights. The team participants were the University of South Carolina (1st Place), Charleston Southern (2nd), College of Charleston (3rd), The Citadel (4th), Savannah State University (5th) and South Carolina State University (6th). College of Charleston runner Tess Masselink was the top individual with a time of 17:50.2 in the 5 Kilometer/3.11 mile race. Knights freshman Shawntez Mickens (FR/Winston Salem, NC) finished 56th in the individual competition by completing the 5000 meter (5K) race with a time of 25:37.3 (26:59.4 in last race). Lydia Randall (SR/Walnut Cove, NC) finished in 64th place with a time of 27:12.4, and Kerri Paschal (SR/Cameron,NC)l finished in 73rd place with a time of 37:00.5. 75 individuals competed. Both cross country teams will travel to Hardeeville, South Carolina on Saturday, October 20th to participate in the USCB Sandshark Invitational.
