[Men's Cross Country] Men's XC finish 5th at Greensboro Invite; win NAIA Division

Greensboro, NC- The St. Andrews University men's cross country team finished fifth out of 17 teams at the 32nd annual Greensboro Cross Country Invite at Hagan Stone park on Saturday. The Knights also topped WV Tech, a fellow NAIA team in the standings to win the NAIA division as well.

Leading the way for the Knights was freshman Eduardo Andrade (FR/Mount Holly, NC) who finished 24th in 28:24 while sophomore Martin Gutierrez (SO/Lodi, NJ) was 31st in 28:45. Andrade was the top NAIA finisher while Gutierrez and freshman Zack Castor (FR/Menifee, CA) were third and fourth among NAIA runners. Castor finished 37th overall in 28:55 while junior Justin Brown (JR/Woodstock, GA) was 48th in 29:27.

Finishing fifth on the Knights and 54th overall was junior Chase Kopp (JR/Bealeton, VA) in 29:42 while redshirt freshman Nigel Barnes (SO/Wilmington, NC) was next in 63rd in 30:04. Freshman Franco Portillo (SO/Menifee, CA) finished up the race for the Knights running a time of 31:51.

Also Running unattached was Student Coach Tyler Beaver who ran a time of 30:58 to place 91st overall.
