[Women's Cross Country] Women's XC compete at NC State

Cary, NC- The St. Andrews University Women's cross country team competed in the Adidas Wolfpack Invitational on Friday.

Several nationally ranked women's teams including NC State top 10 NCAA D1 women's team competed. The young Lady Knights attacked the 5,000 meter course which has a 1000 meter hill to start and finish on.

The Lady Knights were once again led by senior, Kaitlyn Stempien (SR/Raleigh, NC) who finished under 22 minutes in 21:59, followed closely by Hannah Biddle (SO/Blue Bell, PA) in 22:49, Scout Maddox (FR/Flower Mound, TX) (PR of 24:33), Nina Havelka (FR/Charlotte, NC) (PR of 27:58) and Kate Neidrick (JR/Shippensburg, PA)'s big new personal best of 29:06. The Lady Knights had a 1 to 5 split of 7:06, which is over a minute better than any race so far this young season. Coach Cason is very proud of the women who raced who are very tired due to September being their highest mileage month.

Nine Divison I teams placed in the top nine followed by a few D-2 andn D-3 teams while SAU came in 14th out of 18 beating Fayetteville St., Salem, NC Central, and Peace.

The Lady Knights will next return to action on Saturday, Sept 26th at the Greensboro Invitational on the historic Hagan Stone Park 5K course.
